Today, India is being lauded across the globe for taking the necessary and quick actions to combat Coronavirus and following the strategy of Prevention is better than cure. The efforts being done by the Government of India and the People of India to come over this pandemic is highly appreciable. Owing to this strategy, all the Participating Institutions of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan showed a willful prompt response to plan some Coronavirus Preventive activities and awareness programmes to aware people in their adopted villages way much before the regional and national lockdown were announced. It is this proactive action of the educational institutions of India which has also helped in spreading awareness about this deadly virus to every nook and corner of the Indian demography.
One such initiative was taken by KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research’s Shri B M K Ayurved Mahavidyalaya, Shahapur, Belagavi on February 04 2020, under the guidance of Dr. B.S Prasad (Principal). The institute’s UBA cell, in collaboration with the department of Swasthavritta and Kayachikitsa, created awareness among various sectors of the community regarding the disease, its mode of transmission, prevention techniques and immunity enhancing modulations to avoid the occurrence of disease. Talk and PPT presentation was also conducted in different government schools of the adopted villages for increasing awareness in the form of signs, symptoms, preventive aspects regarding Coronavirus. One-hour radio talk on the topic “safety measures in preventing infections” was also delivered by Dr. Ashok Patil, HOD, Department of Swasthavritta & Yoga at KAHER’s Shri.B.M.Kankanawadi Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya, Shahapur, Belagavi on 04th March 2020 conducted by KLE VENUDHWANI, Nehru Nagar Belagavi.
