When the Lockdown was announced in India to combat Coronavirus, the country saw a mass migration of daily wage workers in the first week of this 21-day Lockdown period. The situation was highly critical for the administration as many people started walking hundreds of kilometers to their homes amid lockdown. Hence seeing the scenarios educational institutions who are Participating Institutions of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan stretched their helping hands and provided support to both needy people and the government.
This is how Participating Institutions of UBA helped during Mass Migration of daily wage workers during the lockdown -,
1. PCPS College of Technology and Management, Mathura made shelters in the institution for migrants.
2. Aloysius Institute of Technology helped with youth brigade of village Barela, Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh by distributing food and ration to the poor people.
3. Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Cell of Career Point University, Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh distributed essential commodities including mask and sanitizers to the needy people coming to the Doongar village.
