After the survey they analysed people of certain community used to make leaf plates (Pattal) using leaves of three species such as Bauhinia vahlii (Taur), Ficus roxburghii (Tremal) and Shorea robusta (Sal) to serve food in marriages and other local functions.

Ladies came up from all the communities and formed a Self Help Group in which they were involved to make pattals to improve their economic status as well as social status and also for the regain of a traditional work that is very much beneficial for ecology and they can totally ignore plastics plates which are very harmful for environment as well as our health.

  1. Great work. Please revive the old tradition which is environment friendly as well as source of income for local people. Evey one should go for these pattals during wedding or other functions.

  2. You are so awesome! I do not believe I have read
through a single thing like this before. So great to discover
somebody with some original thoughts on this subject
matter. Really.. many thanks for starting this up.
This web site is something that is needed
on the web, someone with a little originality!

  3. The Indian tradition which pattal still maintain, its great way to protect environment. Its time when we spend millions of rupee to protect environment from plastic plates, it is more important for Government of India to promote and provide low cost facility to produce green pattals in hygienic condition and better packaging to supply across India. Its good time to even explore export opportunities to supply pattals in mordern and natural food plates and earn dollars.
