Vision: The economic development and population growth of rural areas result in many problems, such as environmental pollution, land degradation & desertification, resource depletion, biodiversity loss, poor sanitation, lack of drainage facilities, waste disposal and public health risks. So, the vision of this SEG is to ensure that all the parameters like Water pollution, Watershed, indoor air quality, soil pollution, ecology and biodiversity etc. related to the rural village's environment where some work and development is required to be done are addressed. And the proper capacity building of the universities, institutions, and colleges is done so that they can take care of all the areas concerned and serve as an example for others.
Mission: Rural areas face a variety of issues as a result of their economic development and population growth, including environmental pollution, land degradation and desertification, resource depletion, biodiversity loss, inadequate sanitation, a lack of drainage infrastructure, problems with waste disposal, and risks to the public's health. The main goal here is to make sure that all the parameters related to the rural village environment where work and development is required are addressed, including water pollution, watershed, indoor air quality, soil pollution, ecology and biodiversity, etc., and
- To assist the public in understanding the goals, viewpoints, and principles of sustainable development and environmental management.
- To understand the connections between the environment, society, and development.
- To improve planning abilities for the environment.
Way Forward:
Manual documents will be prepared on the followings to educate the common man in the rural areas as well as the rural entrepreneurs on the subject Environmental Pollution.
- To sensitize the village communities and stakeholders about environmental sustainable development, conservation of biomes, and biodiversity and the natural resources.
- To create awareness about major environmental issues such as pollution, waste management, water management, soil management, biodiversity preservation etc.
- To familiarize the rural people with the concept of the Harit Ghar.
