"Cleanliness and waste management campaign" & community services

Introduction As part of the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) initiative, a team from Govt. Polytechnic Sundernagar visited Government Primary School Bhanwar,Govt middle school Bhanwar, Government Primary School Chajwar, Anganwadi Centre Chajwar, and Gram Panchayat Bhawan Bhanwar on 15 October 2025. The visit aimed to promote cleanliness and raise awareness about waste management, support local institutions, and to promote awareness about safe drinking water. 2. Places Visited and Activities Conducted a) Government Primary School Bhanwar & Govt Middle school Bhanwar • A cleanliness drive was conducted on the school campus. Awareness regarding waste management was created through play/ skit prepared by student members of UBA cell. • Students and staff were informed about the importance of safe drinking water. • A water purifier was provided to Govt primary school Bhanwar to improve access to clean drinking water. The need of water purifier was recorded during the baseline survey conducted by UBA team b) Government Primary School, Chajwar • A cleanliness drive was carried out. Awareness regarding waste management was created through play/ skit prepared by student members of UBA cell. • To improve the learning environment, two ceiling fans were donated to the school. The need to replace the irrepairable fans was recorded during baseline survey which was discouraging students from attending school in hot weather. c) Anganwadi Centre, Chajwar • Cleanliness activities were conducted in and around the centre. • A total of 7 tables and 7 chairs were donated to support the seating needs of children. d) Gram Panchayat Bhawan, Bhanwar A cleanliness drive and waste management demonstration were organized. The dustbins used during the campaign were later donated to Gram Panchayat Bhawan Chajwar for continued use in waste management.
