Awareness for Women Menstrual Hygiene Day
Rai University actively participated in Menstrual Hygiene Day 2025 by organizing a series of impactful initiatives to promote a stigma-free, period-friendly environment. The campaign began with the Red Dot Challenge, where students and faculty posted photos with red dots on their palms and tagged UNICEF India to amplify awareness. Simultaneously, the symbolic Menstruation Bracelet (with 28 beads, 5 red) was promoted as a digital and physical token to normalize periods.
Awareness and sensitization sessions were conducted across departments to educate students on menstrual health, hygiene practices, and the importance of open dialogue, using UNICEF’s menstrual health communication resources. Furthering our commitment, the university assessed and improved sanitation infrastructure by ensuring clean, private toilets with water, soap, door locks, and menstrual waste bins. Signage, adequate lighting, and conceptual design inputs were implemented for a safer experience.
Additionally, rest spaces were designated for menstruating students with basic first-aid support to ensure comfort and care. These efforts collectively contributed to building a more inclusive, period-positive campus culture.
