Celebration of National Breast Feeding Month

The Nutrition Department of Mahishadal Girls’ College organised a college to community campaign, especially in the neighbouring villages like Rangibasan, Purbba Srirampur and some other adjoining areas. As part of this programme, door-to-door visits were conducted to know the views of the local people and observe their daily traditional practises on the matter. At the same time, they tried to diagnose the health status of the lactating and pregnant mothers in the study villages. In this case, they calculated the mothers' BMI and pulse rate and gave effective advice on food consumption and daily dietary habits. They also recommended from person to person the standard diet that is absolutely suitable for the various complications. The villagers also co-operated well with them.
