CIST's Participation at 49th Chinna Shodha Yatra (CSY)
From August 30 to September 1, 2024, the Centre for Innovation and Social Transformation (CIST) at KG Reddy College of Engineering and Technology participated in the 49th Chinna Shodha Yatra, organized by Palle Srujana in Potti Sriramulu Nellore district, Andhra Pradesh. Led by Mr. B. Mohan Venkat Sai Krishna, the team covered 50 km across Kadanutala, Juvvaladinne, Nadimpalli, Tummalapenta, and Mavilla Doruvu, documenting grassroots innovations. Highlights included a low-cost drip irrigation system in Kadanutala, traditional herbal remedies in Juvvaladinne, sustainable crafts in Nadimpalli, and eco-friendly fishing techniques in Tummalapenta. Mr. Mohan facilitated discussions on scaling these innovations, enhancing their market potential, and fostering rural-urban collaboration. The yatra enriched participants through cultural exchanges, deepening appreciation for rural ingenuity. This initiative reflects CIST’s dedication to preserving traditional knowledge and promoting sustainable solutions, bridging urban and rural communities for mutual growth.
