The Digital Literacy Activity was conducted in Anji Village, Dharampur Block, Himachal Pradesh, on 27th October and 30th November 2025 with the objective of promoting digital literacy among rural residents, particularly farmers, women, and youth. Organized in two phases to ensure continuity, better understanding, and hands-on practice, the programme aimed to familiarize participants with the use of smartphones, the internet, and digital applications, while creating awareness about digital government services, online payments, and e-governance platforms. During the sessions, participants were trained in basic smartphone operations, internet usage, and commonly used digital tools such as messaging applications, online search platforms, and digital payment systems. Special emphasis was placed on accessing government portals, digital welfare schemes, and adopting basic cyber safety practices. The training was delivered through interactive demonstrations, step-by-step guidance, and practical exercises, enabling participants to actively engage with digital tasks and overcome challenges related to technology adoption, particularly those faced by Self-Help Groups. As a result, participants demonstrated improved digital awareness and foundational technology skills, increased confidence in using smartphones and internet-based services, enhanced understanding of digital governance platforms, greater willingness to adopt cashless transactions and digital communication, and a positive attitude toward digital inclusion and technological empowerment.
