Display and trade of affordable prices Handloom saris under UBA cell Under the auspices of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Cell, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal conducted an event entitled ““Display and Trade of Affordable Price Handloom Saris for the benefit of females in the UBA adopted villages (Vagurampatti, Aniyapuram, Parali,Tholur,andPettapalayam)” (உன்னத் பாரத் அபியான் அமைப்பின் சார்பில் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்ட கிராமங்களை (வகுரம்பட்டி, அணியாபுரம், பரளி, Nதhளர்மற்றும் பேட்டப்பாளையம்) சார்ந்த மகளிர்க்கான மலிவு விலை கைத்தறி சேலைகள் கண்காட்சி மற்றும் விற்பனை நிகழ்வு) on November 6, 2023, on the college campus. In this regard, various handloom sarees manufactured in the places of Elampillai (Salem), Chinnalapatti (Dindigul), Arani (Thiruvannamalai), Jedarpalayam (Namakkal), Pochampalli (Krishnagiri), Kumbakonam and Thirubhuvanam (Thanjavur), Karaikudi-Chettinad (Sivagangai), Tenkasi, etc., were exhibited at that event. Many women from various places in and around Namakkal took part, and they purchased handloom saris at a discounted price. This programme was organized by Mrs. S. Hemalatha, Coordinator of UBA. The UBA adopted village’s representatives Mrs. R. Navamani (Pettapalayam), Mrs. V. Gokila (Vagurampatti), Dr. A. Latha (Parali), Mrs. S. Priya (Aniyapuram) and Mrs. D. Prabha (Tholur) also took part.
