Gram Swaraj Awareness March- National Panchayat Raj Day

The UBA Cell of Dogra Degree College (Autonomous)organized a “Gram Swaraj Awareness March” on 28th April 2026 to mark National Panchayat Raj Day. The event was conducted at the adopted village of Smailpur,., with the objective of spreading awareness about the importance of Panchayati Raj institutions.The theme of the march, “Empowered Panchayats for Self-reliant Villages,” emphasized the need for strengthening local self-governance in rural areas. Students, faculty members, and UBA volunteers actively participated in the event, carrying banners and placards with impactful slogans. The Gram Swaraj Awareness March resulted in a significant improvement in villagers’ understanding of Panchayati Raj Institutions and their role in grassroots governance. It encouraged greater participation of the local community in decision-making processes and fostered a sense of responsibility towards village development. The event also promoted the concept of self-reliant villages by emphasizing sustainable and community-driven growth. Additionally, the students benefited from the experience by enhancing their leadership abilities and communication skills through active engagement with the villagers.
