GREEN VILLAGES INITIATIVES: TREE PLANTATION DRIVE FOR ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY

The Tree Plantation Drive was organized under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) in the adopted villages of Vemar, Surwada and Sambhoi with the objective of promoting environmental conservation and increasing village-level green cover. The UBA team members, Village Authorities and Local villagers actively participated in the plantation activity. During community interaction, villagers highlighted the need for tree guards to protect the newly planted saplings from damage and ensure their proper sustainability and growth. Responding to this community-identified need, Dr. Hemangini Adke generously donated tree guards for the protection of the planted saplings. The initiative therefore focused not only on plantation but also on environmental awareness, community ownership, protection and long-term care of trees, contributing towards the development of cleaner, greener and healthier villages.
