Health Talk
The UBA (Unnat Bharat Abhiyan) Cell of Dogra Degree College organised an informative Health Talk
on menstrual health and adolescent education at the Anganwadi Center of the adopted village ,
Smailpur.
Dr. Geetanjali Rajput, the Medical Officer at Smailpur, was the chief speaker for the session, delivering
valuable insights on healthcare practices, common diseases, and essential preventive measures. The
session also aimed to educate young girls, women, and the community about the importance of
menstrual health, hygiene practices, and the overall well-being of adolescents during this critical phase
of development. The talk was designed to empower the villagers with knowledge and encourage them to
adopt better health practices.
The session also aimed to raise awareness among local women and volunteers. The primary objectives of
the event was to educate the villagers about common health issues and their prevention, to raise
awareness on maternal and child health, to promote the importance of nutrition and hygiene, to guide the
community on the benefits of preventive healthcare and to introduce local healthcare resources and
government schemes available for health improvement. The event also aimed to enhance the health
awareness of the local community, focusing on issues that directly impact the well-being of the
villagers, particularly the women and children in the region.
Apart from this , the participants took a pledge to avoid intoxicants and live a healthy life. Renowned
Ayurvedic expert Dr. Ravi Dutta Sharma also shared insights on Ayurveda's role in health and
distributed free Ayurvedic medicines to attendees. The event emphasized the importance of health
awareness and community responsibility.
