One-Day Lecture Series on 10 December 2025 as part of the UN’s 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence BY RCI UBA NIT SIKKIM
The 𝗨𝗕𝗔 𝗖𝗘𝗟𝗟 𝗡𝗜𝗧 𝗦𝗜𝗞𝗞𝗜𝗠 𝗥𝗖𝗜 organised a One-Day Lecture Series on 10 December 2025 as part of the UN’s 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, observed from 25 November to 10 December. The programme focused on creating awareness about women’s safety, gender equality, and a respectful work environment.
Ms. Sangita Pradhan, Deputy Solicitor General of India, High Court of Sikkim, was the Chief Guest. She delivered an informative session on the POSH Act, POCSO Act, and other legal provisions related to the protection and rights of women, highlighting procedures for redressal and the importance of reporting. Mrs. Vinita Sharma, Mental Health Counsellor, Ravangla PHC, attended as the Guest of Honour and spoke on gender-based violence, mental well-being, women’s safety helpline numbers, digital abuse, and the importance of raising awareness at the community level. Faculty and staff members of NIT Sikkim actively participated in the session. The programme reinforced the need for zero tolerance towards harassment and encouraged open dialogue to ensure a safe, inclusive, and dignified workplace.
