One Day Orientation for Participating Institutions Under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan on 27th February 2026

From the year 2019, National Institute of Technology Durgapur has been designated as Regional Coordinating Institute under the West Bengal Region. RCI- NIT Durgapur have been the Regional Coordinator of 12 districts including Paschim Bardhaman, Birbhum, Nadia, Murshidabad, Maldah, Uttar Dinajpur, Dakshin Dinajpur, Coochbehar, Alipurduar, Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri and Kalimpong. Currently, 92 colleges have approved under RCI-NITD, and to orient newly approved colleges, for rural societal upliftment works under UBA, NIT Durgapur hosted an in person orientation program on 27th February 2026. Ten newly approved PI members visited from Coochbehar, Darjeeling, Maldah, Murshidabad, Nadia, Birbhum and Paschim Bardhaman attended the event. The one-day orientation ended successfully with cooperation from the NCI team, and more such orientations will be organized in the coming quarters to encourage PI colleges and together contribute to inclusive rural development.
