Orientation Seminar for Higher Educational Institutions/ Universities of West Bengal

National Institute of Technology Durgapur being the Regional Coordinator of West Bengal region under aegis of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan program of Ministry of Education, Govt. of India hosted an Orientation Program for Participating Institutions on 12th September 2024. 28 member from UBA Particiapting Institutes from Jalpaiguri, Darjeeling, Birbhum, Maldah, Uttar Dinajpur, Murshidabad, Nadia and Paschim Bardhaman attended the program in person. Dr Shri Krishan Rai, RCI Coordinator, NIT Durgapur gave the introductory lecture and set the tone for the Orientation Program. Thereafter series of Online Lecture Sessions from UBA- National Coordinating Institute, IIT Delhi was screened for the participants. Dr P.K. Singh, Project Director UBA delivered a presentation on Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, expectations from PI colleges, achievements and success stories of UBA enrolled colleges, successful MoUs signed for possible collaboration. Ms Manvee Ajit Singh, Sr. Project Scientist, NCI-IIT Delhi gave a training session on UBA website and SEG proposals. An interactive session was organized and PI colleges had one-on-one interaction with NCI team and cleared their doubts and queries. An experience sharing session among the PIs was also organized where experienced PI colleges under RCI- NIT Durgapur shared their experiences, hardships faced and their overcoming technique. The program ended with Valedictory session and all the PI colleges were highly motivated and they promised will immerse themselves in rural societal upliftment works.
