Participation of Students in One Day Workshop on Basohli Paintings

The Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) Regional Coordinating Institution (RCI) at IIT Jammu organized a workshop-cum-competition on the revival of Basohli Paintings at the IIT Jammu campus.Four studebts from Dogra Degree College (Autonomous), students Gitanjali Phonse (B.A. 2nd Semester), Shagun Bhagat (B.A. 4th Semester), Sohani Angral (B.Com 2nd Semester), and Keshav (B.Com 2nd Semester) participated in a workshop on the theme “Intricacies of Basohli Painting” held on 14 March 2026 at IIT Jammu. The initiative aimed to promote awareness and encourage the revival of Basohli painting, a renowned traditional art form that reflects the rich cultural heritage of the Jammu region. The programme was organized by the Outreach Department of IIT Jammu under the guidance of the Director, Prof Manoj Singh Gaur; Dean (Outreach and Skill Development), Prof Meenakshi Rajeev; and Associate Dean, Dr Sameer Kumar Sarma Pachalla.. Gitanjali Phonse, 2nd Semester student of Dogra Degree College (Autonomous), secured Second Prize during the workshop.Shagun Bhagat (B.A., 4th Semester), Sohani Angral (B.Com., 2nd Semester), and Keshav (B.Com., 2nd Semester) were among the participants who were duly awarded certificates of participation.
