SriRamNagar Village Visit for Problem Scoping

On February 28, 2025, 42 first-year students from KG Reddy College of Engineering visited Sriram Nagar village as part of their Social Innovation Course, organized by the Centre for Innovation and Social Transformation. Coordinated by Mr. B. Lingam, the visit focused on understanding the educational system and challenges faced by the local government school. Students engaged with school staff and students, observed the learning environment, and conducted a silent empathy exercise to identify issues. Two key problems were scoped: the lack of digital infrastructure, limiting access to online educational resources due to inadequate devices and connectivity, and inadequate sanitation facilities, affecting student health and attendance, particularly for female students. The visit enhanced awareness of educational challenges, fostered empathy, and encouraged brainstorming for innovative solutions. It strengthened academic-community collaboration, laying the foundation for sustainable educational and infrastructural improvements.
