Study Tour of K.K. Wagh Engineering College at Ahilyanagar
Nashik | Student of K.K. Wagh Engineering College, a study tour was organized at Hivre Bazar village (Dist. Ahilyanagar) and Malegaon Service Cooperative (Shingo Naik, Dist. Ahilyanagar). This two-day study tour was undertaken to explore award-winning and rural development inspirational models.
The coordinator Prof. Swanand Dongare, along with student council president Mr. Yogiraj Tite, secretary Mr. Dnyaneshwar Bhore, and Prof. Rohit Patil, Prof. Vaibhav Shinde, Prof. Aniket Pawar led the students during the tour. The team visited various grassroots initiatives related to rural sanitation, water management, afforestation, and women's empowerment.
During the tour, they interacted with village leaders and community members to understand their success stories. Because of these efforts, the students gained firsthand knowledge and inspiration regarding sustainable rural development.
Particularly, the village Hivre Bazar, which has received several national-level awards for development work, was a major attraction. Shri. Popatrao Pawar, a key figure behind the village’s transformation, guided the students and shared the history of the initiatives. He explained how integrated development was achieved through social mobilization, water conservation, and effective planning.
Later, the students visited Malegaon Cooperative Society’s initiative at Shingo Naik, which includes unique community-driven programs for rural prosperity. This gave insights into cooperative leadership, transparency, and rural entrepreneurship.
This educational tour enabled the students of K.K. Wagh Engineering College to understand the practical aspects of social engineering and development. It was organized with the participation of 100 students. The visit offered valuable inspiration for contributing meaningfully to rural development.
