Tholkatta Village Visit for UBA Survey
The field visit to Tholkatta village, organized by the Centre for Innovation and Social Transformation (CIST) in collaboration with the Engineers Without Borders (EWB) KGRCET Student Chapter, was a significant step toward bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world challenges. Conducted under the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan framework on November 8, 2024, the initiative focused on surveying critical developmental areas, including clean water availability, waste management practices, clean and affordable energy solutions, and gender equality. The visit saw active participation from 30 motivated students guided by experienced faculty coordinators, Mrs. Tuti Sandhya, under the visionary leadership of Mrs. P. Samyuktha, Head of CIST.
The primary objective of the visit was to enable students to experience the nuances of rural development challenges firsthand while fostering community engagement. Through this initiative, students acted as changemakers, gaining exposure to grassroots-level issues that align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
