Two Days Training programme on Transgender persons (protection of Right) act 2019 on 18 January, 2024 and 19th January, 2024

Unnat Bharat Abhiyan unit of Bharati college attended the two days training programme on transgender persons (protection of Right) act 2019. Prof. Rajni, Prof. Mala Rani and Dr Shailender Vikram attended the above training programme. These are some of the inputs from this training programme at the end of the two-day training: 1. Implement welfare schemes aimed at benefiting transgender individuals, facilitating their admission to universities and higher education institutions. 2. Identify and support students from the transgender community to access higher education opportunities. 3. Prioritize creating awareness and motivation for basic education, helping transgender individuals achieve foundational skills. 4. Ensure that Delhi University (and other universities/colleges) takes proactive steps to enable easy access to resources for transgender individuals. 5. Establish a Queer cell, similar to other cells for marginalized groups, in the colleges and departments of universities. 6. Include a transgender individual in the advisory body for committees related to transgender issues. 7. Advocate with Vice-Chancellor Sir for waiving off fees for transgender students, mirroring the support provided to disabled students. Additionally, ensure gender-neutral or separate toilets for transgender students in departments or colleges
