Village Visit to SriRamNagar For Swachhtha Hi Program
The Swachhta Hi Seva initiative, organized by the Centre for Innovation & Social Transformation at KG Reddy College of Engineering & Technology, an autonomous institution, took place in Sriramnagar village on Gandhi Jayanti, October 2. The program aimed to promote cleanliness and hygiene, encourage community participation, and engage local leaders through the Grama Sabha to address sanitation and developmental challenges.
Villagers, including women and children, actively participated in cleaning public spaces such as schools and streets, fostering a sense of responsibility for maintaining hygiene. Discussions emphasized proper waste disposal, sanitation practices, and the benefits of a clean environment, with villagers pledging to adopt better hygiene habits. The Grama Sabha provided a platform for addressing sanitation issues and other community concerns, with villagers committing to regular cleanliness drives. Supported by the CIST team and Sriramnagar community members, the initiative made Gandhi Jayanti a meaningful day of service and awareness. The program successfully instilled community ownership and a commitment to sustaining a cleaner, healthier village environment in Sriramnagar.
