Visit to Hastsal Village Gram Sabha Under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Administrator Start Date: 27-January-2024, 10 Am, End Date: 27-January-2024, 4 pm Unnat Bharat Abhiyan team visited the Hastsal Village adopted under UBA located in West Delhi on 27th of January 2024. The faculties who accompanied the NSS students are UBA coordinator Prof. Rajni, Dr. Shailendra Vikram, Dr. Madhavi, Dr. Purna ram, Ms. Lalita and some members of Sewa Bharati NGO. Students interacted with local residents of the village to know about their problems in the areas and discussion regarding the development of the village. They got to know about the history of this village. Before 1982 there was a Gram Panchayat system but now it is being governed through MCD and Counsellor is the head of the village. The team of NSS even talked with Rakhi Yadav, Counsellor of Hastsal. Hastsal village is a historical village in Delhi near Uttam Nagar. The college students visited the Chhopal in the Hastsal village. There are three chopal in the Hastsal village. One in harijan Basti, second in tyagi locality and third is Dr. B.R. Ambdedkar Chopal. Basically, the government works there on the 3 levels - Counsellor, MP and MLA. The duties of Counsellor is to look upon the problem of the locals people living in this area. Earlier Agriculture was used to be a profession but now Hatsaal Village is known for its vibrant community and bustling marketplaces. The conditions in Hastsal Village may vary, but it's likely to have a mix of residential buildings, shops, and local businesses. Now, the people are connected socially. The local people discussed some of their problem related to proper disposal of waste. The whole experience of visiting and understanding the ground reality of the Hastsal Village was amazing. It was a very new and opportunistic visit for volunteers to understand society better and work actively towards Unnat Bharat Abhiyan of Government of India.
