Water Conservation and Rainwater- -Harvesting Campaign

A Water Conservation and Rainwater Harvesting Awareness Campaign was organized in Bhojpura Village under the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) by St. Xavier's P.G. College, Phagi. The objective of the campaign was to create awareness among villagers about the importance of water conservation, efficient water management, and the adoption of rainwater harvesting techniques to address water scarcity. The program included expert lectures, interactive awareness sessions, demonstrations of rooftop rainwater harvesting systems, discussions on groundwater recharge, water-saving practices in agriculture and households, poster and slogan displays, and the distribution of informational pamphlets. Faculty members, UBA volunteers, village representatives, farmers, women, and students actively participated in the campaign. The participants were encouraged to adopt simple water-saving measures such as repairing water leakages, reusing wastewater where appropriate, constructing recharge pits, maintaining village ponds, and practicing efficient irrigation methods. The campaign also highlighted the importance of community participation in protecting local water resources and ensuring sustainable water availability for future generations. The event concluded with a collective pledge by the villagers to conserve water, promote rainwater harvesting, and actively support the development of a water-secure and environmentally sustainable Bhojpura Village.
