Day 1: 21st December 2023:
Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering and Unnat Bharat Abhiyan SRMIST jointly conducted three days program on “ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT TRAINING ON RURAL PRODUCTS MAKING BUSINESS IDEAS OPPORTUNITIES FOR SELF HELP GROUP WOMEN” in association with Tamil nadu State Rural Livelihood Mission (TNSRLM) in SHG Building, Chettipuniyam Village, Chengalpattu Dt. Tamilnadu from 21st to 23rd December 2023. During the program Chief guest, SHG block managers, SHG leaders of chettipuniyam village were honoured on the stage in the presence of SHG women. Dr. R.Mani, Project Director- Tamil Nadu State Rural Livelihood Mission (TNSRLM) Chengalpattu Dt., Tamil Nadu addressed the SHG women on awareness of livelihood promotions.
Project director, TNSRLM along with two block managers delivered the orientation talk, about classes, and intensified people becoming entrepreneurs.
Day 2:
22nd December 2023
Second Day Trainer Mrs. Neela, Manager of Equitas – small finance bank demonstrated to SHG Women how to make candles, herbal soap, soap powder, sabena powder, and phenyl. End of the day raw materials were given to interested SHG women to practice.
Day 3:
23rd December 2023
SHG Women made products and displayed them. They also explained the procedure and shared the experience happily. Nattarasanpattu Village (UBA SRM village) Entrepreneur Mrs. Kirija shared her business experience and explained how marketing is to be done among SHG women. Finally, a few SHG women have given positive feedback about the program. Most of them got motivated. In addition to this most of them have given names for different product making, the list was taken by TNSRLM. With the SRMIST team and SHG Women's support, TNSRLM team will be conducting short course training from January 2024 onwards. End of the training Certificates will be given to trained people by SRMIST and TNSRLM.
