Pink October Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign

As part of the Pink October Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign, Shoolini University organized a special breast cancer screening camp on 16th October at the University Health Centre in collaboration with the YouWeCan Foundation, with a focused objective of providing essential health screening and awareness to the housekeeping and support staff of the university. The initiative emphasized the belief that care and preventive health begin within one’s own community and workplace. The YouWeCan medical team conducted detailed screening sessions in a safe, private, and supportive environment, ensuring comfort and personalized attention for each participant. Alongside the screenings, participants were sensitized about breast self-examination techniques, early warning signs, and the critical importance of early detection in saving lives, while also addressing common myths and reducing stigma associated with breast cancer. For many women, this marked their first-ever breast health check-up, making the initiative particularly meaningful and impactful. The camp was well received by the participants, who expressed gratitude for the inclusive and compassionate outreach. A total of 80 women were screened during the programme. Through this initiative, carried out in partnership with the YouWeCan Foundation founded by cricketer Yuvraj Singh, Shoolini University reinforced its commitment to women’s health, community care, and preventive healthcare, aligning strongly with the global message that early detection saves lives and reaffirming its responsibility toward the well-being of its extended university family.
