Vision and Mission of the SEG on Rural Energy System

1. Creating awareness among the Participating Institutions (through meetings/ workshops) for submission of society-relevant technology development and customization project proposals in the area of rural energy systems (renewable energy development and utilization).
2. Inviting thematic proposals, its evaluation, and approval for funding of the appropriately selected project proposals.
3. Monitoring and evaluation of funded projects.
4. Documentation of success stories and development of publication materials for PIs and end users.

The Way Forward/Future Plan

1. Organization of the workshop to boost the participation of PI for more number of relevant project proposals.
2. Focus on solar thermal energy-based systems for drying of high-value crops/ vegetables.
3. Piped biogas supply system in rural areas for the provision of clean cooking fuel.
4. Decentralized Solar Photovoltaic System for power access in remote villages/ areas.
5. Field visits to the funded projects for documentation of success stories
